Looking Forward

WE LOVE MICRO-WEDDINGS! But we totally get that, sometimes, it leaves you still dreaming of that 'big day'. So, let us introduce you to Francisca and Tom, who've done it... And they're going to do it all over again! Francisca tells us more:

Looking Forward

Our original wedding date was 3 April 2020 but after going through four further dates thanks to the pandemic, we finally tied the knot on 9 April at Aswanley in Huntly, which was the most beautiful venue.

I have friends who have been together for more than 10 years and they're waiting until they can have the wedding they planned. I can totally understand that they don't want to compromise but we were fed up of waiting and decided to go for it!

Our ceremony was really small with our mums as our only guests, and we've saved our reception for next year. We plan to renew our vows in August 2022 and we're so excited to get to do it all over again! This time with a lot less restrictions and many more guests!

Wedding planning was 100% the most stressful thing I've ever done and adding COVID-19 into the mix made it a complete nightmare.

With the rules constantly changing, we essentially couldn't plan anything at all. It took a lot of the fun out of it for me when it should have been the most exciting time of our lives.

That said, I can't put into words how amazing our suppliers have been. They were all so accommodating and definitely made the process much easier.

And although it wasn't the day we originally imagined, we had a lovely micro-wedding and I'm so thankful to be married to my best friend.
